Green Roof Project

Urbanisation poses significant environmental challenges, notably the decline of insect pollinators due to habitat loss, fragmentation, and degradation. In bustling urban centres like Auckland's Queen Street CBD, these challenges are further compounded by environmental stressors such as urban heat islands and pollution.

The overarching aim of my project is to design green roofs that enhance biodiversity and support wild bee populations within Auckland’s Queen Street CBD. By developing green infrastructure that integrates native plant species and sustainable practices, the project aims to address urban ecological challenges, such as habitat loss and pollinator decline, while contributing to the aesthetic and environmental resilience of the city.

Monitoring App

This app helps eco tray users monitor conditions, biodiversity, bee visitations, and maintenance needs. It minimises human interference with wild bees while maximising monitoring capabilities.
